Julie Christie (born April 14, 1941) is a British actress, winner of an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1965 film, Darling.

Ms. Christie was born in Chabua , Assam, India and studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama before getting her big break in 1961 in a science fiction series on BBC television, entitled A for Andromeda.
