Jun Aoi

This is part of the Martian Successor Nadesico (see Categories, below) series of articles

If Martian Successor Nadesico has a straight man, then it's Jun Aoi

A talented military officer of the UEAF, Jun is a stickler for rules and regulations, as well as stating the obvious, he is the executive officer aboard the Nadesico. He can often be found beside the beautiful and bubbly Captain Yurika Misumaru, whom he has had a serious crush on for years when her family moved from Mars to Earth ten years prior to the Jovian War. In fact, he cares about Yurika so much that he practically gave up his military career so that he could serve aboard the Nadesico with her. [Of course his love goes unnoticed by the oblivious Captain. Poor guy,:( ]

He stands ramrod straight so much that one would think he's got a steel bar for a spine. (Some might condlude that he's never been laid) He is a trained Aestivalis pilot, though one wouldn't think so after he nearly broke his neck rushing to the aid of the other Aestivalis pilots. He is also a skilled organizer, since he was the one who wrote the lyrics and music for Yurika's talent contest entry. (He probably designed her costume, too)

He is a rather mundane guy, and the only thing he has a passion for is Yurika, whom he gives 110% for all the time. But she's too infatuated with Akito Tenkawa to notice. He is in no way a risk taker, and always preferes to play it safe. He is generally well-liked, but doesn't have the depth to be a major character of this series.
