Kuala Lumpur Sentral
(Redirected from KL Sentral)
Kuala Lumpur Sentral is the central railway station of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Opened on 15 April 2001, it was built to replace the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, an old colonial-era station at Brickfields , which remains open for commuter trains only.
Designed as an intermodal hub, the following lines all connect to KL Sentral:
- Putra LRT
- Star LRT
- KL Monorail
- KTM Komuter commuter trains
- KTMB long-distance trains
- KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit high-speed link to Putrajaya and KLIA
Technically, Kuala Lumpur Sentral refers to the entire office, hotel, condominium and mall development surrounding the station, while the station itself is known as Stesen Sentral. Phase One of the complex is nearing completion, while Phase Two is targeted for 2010.
