Kaitangata
- "Kaitangata" is small town near the coast of South Otago in New Zealand.
- In Maori language, Kaitangata means human food - kai being food and tangata being human, or people. Kaitangata has sometimes been used to mean cannibal.
- In Polynesian mythology, Kaitangata is a son of Rehua who fell to Earth, his blood staining the sky red. This is the origin of the fantastic colors seen at sunset.
