Kananook railway station, Melbourne

Kananook (station code: KAN) is an unmanned railway station on the Frankston line in Melbourne, Australia, opened in 1975. It has one central island platform with a substantial fibro building. It is located in Metcard ticketing Zone 3.

Disappearance

Sarah MacDiarmid disappeared from Kananook Station on July 11 1990 last seen walking to the station carpark. Since then, Kananook station has had a bad reputation with the general public and has been avoided by many members of the public.

The station was featured in the first episode of the Australian TV series Sensing Murder , which aired on the Ten Network in September 2004.
