Kawagoe Line
The Kawagoe Line (Japanese: 川越線 Kawagoe Sen) is a 30.6-kilometre railway line which connects the cities of Saitama, Saitama, Kawagoe and Hidaka in the Saitama Prefecture. Its main transfer stations are Omiya (terminus), Kawagoe and Komagawa (terminus). It is owned and operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East.)
The Kawagoe to Omiya section operates as a part of radial suburban train system, where services extends towards the fringe of central Tokyo via Saikyo Line to Osaki then finally to Shin-Kiba via Tokyo Waterfront Railway.
On the other hand, On the Kawagoe to Komagawa section about a half of services are extended to and from Hachioji via Hachiko Line. It is less frequently served as it can be regarded as an arc line in the outer Greater Tokyo Area.
On the current operation patterns passengers who wish to go beyond Kawagoe from either side must change trains there.
