Kessock Bridge
(Redirected from Kessock bridge)
The Kessock Bridge crosses the Kessock narrows, between the Beauly and Inverness Firths, north of Inverness Scotland. This cable-stayed bridge was built between 1976 and 1982. It is based on a German Design, in fact a river bridge over the Rhine at Düsseldorf. The bridge carries the A9 trunk road north from Inverness to the Black Isle.
The Kessock Bridge is one the the "three firths" crossings - the Kessock, Cromarty and Dornoch Firth bridges which has transformed road transport in the Highlands of Scotland, and has been a key factor in the growth of the city of Inverness.
