Kimberly Bergalis
Kimberly Bergalis (born 9 January 1968, died 8 December 1991) was an American woman who allegedly contracted HIV from her dentist, David Acer , after a procedure to have her molar teeth removed. Bergalis claimed to be a virgin and to have never taken IV drugs or received a blood transfusion. She testified before the United States Congress in support of a bill requiring HIV tests for some healthcare workers.
Controversy still surrounds her case. Peter Duesberg uses her case as an example of a death from the drug AZT, and not from AIDS complications. [1]
