Klaw

Klaw, the self-styled Master of Sound, is a fictional character, a supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe. He made his first appearance in Fantastic Four volume 1 #53 (1966).

Ulysses Klaw is a Caucasian scientist who found the hidden African nation of Wakanda, which was ruled by the bearer of the hereditary mantle of the Black Panther. Klaw convinced T'Chaka, the Black Panther, to give him some of the rare vibranium, a valuable sound-manipulating mineral found only in Wakanda. He then used the mineral to build a sound-generating weapon and turned it on T'Chaka, killing him. T'Chaka's son T'Challa, angered, turned Klaw's weapon back on him, obliterating the villain's hand. Klaw fled, and the young T'Challa inherited the roles of the Black Panther and King of Wakanda. Years later, Klaw resurfaced, and battled the Black Panther and the Fantastic Four. Although he was believed dead after this encounter, he actually survived, and used his technology to transform himself into a being of living sound. He has battled the Black Panther and Fantastic Four, among others, countless times since, occasionally serving as a member of the Masters of Evil or the Frightful Four.

Klaw uses a machine he invented that can solidify sound; this device is placed on the stump of his wrist where his missing hand once was. As a being of pure sound, Klaw is resilient and his body malleable, and can be reconstructed if discorporated.
