Knock on Wood
Knock on Wood is a 1954 film starring Danny Kaye as "Jerry Morgan." The leading lady is played by Mai Zetterling. Others in the film are Torin Thatcher , David Burns and Leon Askin.
The movie is written and directed by Melvin Frank and Norman Panama.
Danny plays a ventriloquist with problems causing him to always lose out on love. Just when his relationship with a woman gets around to marriage, his puppet, Clarence, turns jealous. Mai is his psychiatrist, Ilse Nordstrom.
Songs for the movie were written by Kaye's wife, Sylvia Fine .
One of the funny scenes is Kaye's impersonation of a British car salesman demostrating a new convertible with loads of bells and whistles.
