Kogota, Miyagi
Kogota (小牛田町; -chou) is a town located in Tōda District, Miyagi, Japan.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 19,743 and a density of 555.51 persons per km². The total area is 35.54 km².
Kogota is situated in a rice growing area. The town serves as a shopping center for the surrounding area. Kogota is well connected to the Japanese rail network.
Major landmarks of the town include the Yamanokami Shrine and various aincient burial mounds dating from before 250BC1.
