Korpiklaani
Korpiklaani (English: Forest Clan) is a folk metal/troll metal/forest metal band from Finland. Korpiklaani was formed by Jonne Järvelä, the lead singer of another folk/troll/forest metal band called Shaman. In contrast to Shaman, who recorded songs in the ancient Sami language, Korpiklaani record in English.
Musical style ranges from the bagpipe-and-guitar paean to the Finnish god of fermentation Pellonpekko, to the "typical" trollish metal Wooden Pints, to Crows Bring The Spring, which is strongly reminiscent of Ride the Lightning era Metallica.
There has been some amount of cross-pollination between Korpiklaani and Finntroll, as Järvelä provided the yoiking on the title track from their album Jaktens Tid.
