Kourtesi

Kourtesi (Greek: Modern: Κουρτέσι, Ancient/Katharevousa: -on) is a community having its centre off the highway connecting Patras and Pyrgos. Distance is 52 km SW of Patras and . The latitude is 37.99/37°58'00" N and the longitude is 21.35/21°21'00" E and It lies on the southwestern part of the municipality of Vouprasias. Its nearest communities are Varda in the northeast, Kapeleto to the east, Areti in the west and Melissa in the north. Its postal code is 270. The dialing code is 26230. Before it changed its name, this place was known as Mazi?.

Kourtesi, not the commune is divided in three:

Ano Kourtesi is a small hamlet south of the local centre of about 50 to 60 inhabitants

Kourtesi is a town of about 300 to 400 people. It is connected by rail to the north featuring a tiny train station. A church in the east, a school and a plateia. North of downtown is filled with communication towers built by OTE and directly further north is the Kotychi lagoon. The northern part is the plain.

Kato Kourtesi is another hamlet north of the communal centre. Houses runs sporadically and is bounded by a creek. Its nearby hamlet of Kourtesi is Zisomoulaiika in the southeast. It has a little forest.

There is also a small village named Kotteika which has a population of 43 in 2001.
