Kovacica


Kovačica (Serbian: Ковачица; Slovak: Kovačica; Romanian: Kovăciţa or Covăciţa) is a town located in Vojvodina, Serbia and Montenegro. According to a 1991 census, Municipality of Kovačica had population of 30469, and total area of 419 km². It is widely known by its naïve art. While under the rule of Austria-Hungary the town was also known as Kowatschitza (German) and Antalfalva (Hungarian).


Geography

The town of Kovačica is located 27 km from Pancevo and 47 km from Belgrade, in the South Banat District.
