Kowloon City

Kowloon City (; Cantonese IPA:; Jyutping: gau2 lung4 sing4) is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is located in Kowloon. Population (2000): 406,000. Area: approx. 10 km².

Kowloon City District is chiefly a residential area.

Areas include: Ho Man Tin 何文田, Hung Hom 紅磡, Kai Tak 啟德, Kowloon Tong 九龍塘, Ma Tau Wai 馬頭圍, To Kwa Wan 土瓜灣, Whampoa Garden 黃埔.

History

Part of the district was the location the original "Kowloon City", see Kowloon Walled City. This is now Walled City Park.

The former Kai Tak International Airport was located in the district.
