Kreuzeck Group
The Kreuzeck Group are a mountain range in Carinthia, Austria and belong to the southern central Alps .
The highest peaks are Polinik (2784m), Striedenkopf (2749m), Hochkreuz (2709M) and Kreuzeck (2701). The Kreuzeck Group is build up mainly from gneisses and garnet-mica-shists .
Geographically it is separated from the High Tauerns in the north by the Möll River and from the Drauzug Mountains in the south by the Drava. The mountainous area (approximatedly 450km²) is sparsely populated and is used mainly for forestry and hunting.
