Kromagg
The Kromaggs, also called Maggs is a derogatory sense, are a species of humanoid primates with pointed teeth from the science fiction television show Sliders. Their society is highly militaristic, and their stated agenda is to conquer all human-dominated alternate Earths in preparation for an assault on the world they call Kromagg Prime, the world the humans there originally drove them from.
Professor Arturo, Rembrandt, Quinn, and Wade first encountered the Kromaggs in the episode Invasion on one of the more than 150 Earths they had subjugated. According to Mary, the Sliders' liaison with the Kromaggs, when the Kromaggs began sliding, they were shocked to see world after world dominated by Homo sapiens.
The Kromaggs stopped their civil wars with each other and unified under a government known as the Kromagg Dynasty. From their home world (presumably the one they were exiled to by the humans of Kromagg Prime), the Kromaggs took over each alternate Earth they encountered and kept those humans they didn't kill for slave labor, breeding purposes, or as test subjects. Kromaggs also came to regard human eyes as a delicacy.
In the episode The Other Slide of Darkness , it was revealed that Quinn's double (from the premiere episode) gave the Kromaggs access to sliding technology. After that double of Quinn did this, the Kromaggs destroyed his home. In addition to sliding technology (which the Kromaggs forbid humans to possess), the Kromaggs can also project illusions and plant post-hypnotic suggestions into human minds.
In the episode Genesis, it was learned the Kromaggs slid to Earth Prime about two months before and took over the planet. We also learn in that episode that the Kromaggs originated on an Earth along with humans (called Kromagg Prime in the series), and that Quinn Mallory is actually from that Earth.
A lingering aftereffect of the weapon used to drive the Kromaggs from Kromagg Prime (cf. "Mother and Child ") made the Kromaggs themselves infertile. Their attempts to breed with humans and the resultant children, "Humaggs," have met with mixed results.
The episode "Revelations" showed us an alternate version of the Kromaggs who were of limited intelligence and were generally docile. On their version of Kromagg Prime (called "Kromagg Double Prime") these Kromaggs were victims of a Holocaust-style purge by the humans of their world. .
