Kushi kanzashi
A kushi is a variety of rounded comb fixed in Japanese coiffured hair just in front of the mage (bun). These are usually tortoiseshell or lacquered wood, often with inlaid mother of pearl or gilding. The spine of the comb is often wide in order to allow maximum space for the design, and in many cases this design will extend into the teeth.
