La Belle (discotheque)
La Belle is the name of a disco in Berlin, Germany which was attacked with a bomb on April 5, 1986. Two U.S. soldiers and a Turkish woman died.
A Berlin state court sentenced the four culprits in November 2001. The main culprit Verena Chaanaa was convicted to 14 years of jail for three murders and attempted murder. Yassir Chraidi , Musbah Eter , and Ali Chanaa were convicted to 14 and 12 years of prison respectively. The judges ruled that the State of Libya had a partly responsibility for the attack. Musbah Eter had allegedly worked for the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The inquiries against another suspect - Mossad agent Mohammed Assad Ameiri - were closed for opaque reasons.
