La República
La República is a center-left newspaper published in Lima, Peru. It is one of the two main national dailies sold all over the country.
The paper was founded by Gustavo Mohme Llona, a member of the Peruvian Congress, who served as its first editor. Under his leadership, La República was a staunch opponent of what it considered the "dictatorship" of President Alberto Fujimori, after his "auto-coup" in 1992.
