Lakitu

Lakitu is a turtle who first appeared in the computer game Super Mario Bros. for the Famicom/NES. Originally Lakitu was an enemy who threw Spinies at Mario to prevent him from finishing the level. Lakitu has appeared in many more games but not always as an opponent to Mario - for example Lakitu appears as a cameraman in Super Mario 64, and helps players get back on the racetrack after getting knocked off in Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Double Dash!. In the game Super Smash Bros. Melee, Lakitu can be won as a trophy.

A Lakitu defeated by a thrown object in Super Mario World will leave their cloud behind, allowing the player to fly inside it for a period of time.

Lakitus ride upon clouds and seem to be Koopa-like creatures due to their shell.
