Lakshmi Mittal

Lakshmi Narayan Mittal (also known as Lakshmi Niwas Mittal) is a billionaire industrialist of Indian origin currently residing in London. He is chairman of the Mittal Steel Company NV, which is the world's largest producer of steel. In 2005 Forbes Magazine named him the 3rd richest man in the world [1].His estimated networth is $25 billion (March 2005). He was the wealthiest person in Britain according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2005. He holds steel assets in South Africa, Poland, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan.
In 2002 he was embroiled in a political scandal dubbed Garbagegate with British Prime Minister, Tony Blair when it was felt that a donation Mittal had made to the Labour party had led to Blair's intervention in a business deal favouring Mittal.
He is the richest non-American in the world.
