Lakshya
Lakshya (2004) is the second Indian movie directed by Farhan Akhtar. It stars Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta. It is based loosely on the story of Captain Batra, Param Vir Chakra winner, in the 1999 Kargil war, starring Hrithik Roshan who plays the role of Karan Shergill who leads his team to a victory over the infiltrators on the border.
Story line
The story is about an young man who has no actual goal in mind or plans for his future. Confused, reluctant and in constant quest for one, he co-incidentally finds himself enrolling to an Army School despite the dissent from his parents.
Despite his initial failures to cope up with the disciplined life of the military, Karan succeeds to become a respected officer and gets posted to Kargil during the heights of infiltration from across the border. From a immature teenager to a mature officer, he now gets to know the essence of his life or his goal - 'Lakshya'. His journey towards his goal takes him along a path filled with dangers, challenges and difficulty with many lives at stake. The movie is well poised at the end with daring feats and bravery that finally leads to triumph, but of course, costing some sacrifice.
