Left Democratic Front
Left Democratic Front is one of the two major alliances that dominate the political life of the Indian state Kerala. Since 2001 LDF is in opposition in the state legislative assembly.
Members of LDF are
- Communist Party of India (Marxist) (23 Members of Legislative Assembly)
- Communist Party of India (7)
- Janata Dal (Secular) (3)
- Revolutionary Socialist Party (2)
- Kerala Congress (Joseph) (2)
- Nationalist Congress Party (2)
LDF has eight subcommittees:
- Agriculture
- Cooperative
- Culture
- Education
- Elections
- Finance
- IT
- Youth & Sports
The Islamist Indian National League stands close to the LDF, but they are not actual members.
LDF is also the name of an alliance in Maharashtra. The core of LDF in Maharashtra is Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India and Peasants and Workers Party of India.
