Leonard Covington
Leonard Covington (October 30, 1768 - November 11, 1813) was a United States Army Brigadier General and a Congressman of the United States House of Representatives.
He was born in Aquasco, Maryland .
Covington served in the American Revolutionary War and in the War of 1812; in the later war he was killed in battle.
The city of Covington, Louisiana is named after him.
