Li Kao
Li Kao is a 7th century Sherlock Holmes that features in Barry Hughart's Ancient China that never was series.
His surname is Li and his personal name is Kao and he has a slight flaw in his character. He is named (through a mistake) after the wine Kaoliang.
His age is not known but it is estimated to be in excess of one hundred.
He finished his examinations as chuang yuan and is entitled to wear the emblem of the rose. He is also entitled to wear the emblem of the chien-kuan.
