Lisa Otto
Lisa Otto (born November 14, 1919) is a German operatic soprano.
She studied at the Hochschule für Musik in her home town of Dresden. In 1941, she made her debut in Beuthen (now Bytom, Poland).
From 1945 to 1946, she performed with the Nuremberg Opera , then the Semper Oper in Dresden from 1946 to 1951. In 1952, she joined the Städtische Oper Berlin, and began touring internationally. She has also appeared at the Salzburg Festival.
She is best known for her roles in Mozart’s operas. She has made numerous recordings of them, as well as such operas as Weber's Der Freischütz, Beethoven's Fidelio, and Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, Der Rosenkavalier, and Electra.
