- 191 - Battle of Jieqiao - Yuan Shao's infantry repulses a cavalry charge by rival warlord Gongsun Zan.
- 200 - Battle of Guandu - Cao Cao defeats Yuan Shao's numerically superior army and secures domination of the North China plain.
- 208 - Battle of Changban - Cao Cao's cavalry catch Liu Bei's forces, disperse his army and capture most of his baggage train.
- 208 - Battle of Red Cliffs - Cao Cao is defeated by the allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei, foreshadowing the triparte of the Three Kingdoms.
- 222 - Battle of Yiling - Liu Bei's invasion of Wu is repulsed by Sun Quan's commander Lu Xun.
- 383 - Battle of Fei River - Fu Jian is defeated by the Jin commander Xie An . His Later Qin regime collapses shortly thereafter.
