The following is a list of by-elections for the Scottish Parliament in chronological order.
Where seats changed political party at the by-election, the result is highlighted: red for a Labour gain, blue for a Conservative gain, yellow for a Liberal Democrat, or orange for a SNP gain and grey for any other gain.
