This is a listing of Singapore police officers from the Singapore Police Force killed in the line of duty, based on records from the year 1900 to the present.

  • 21 September 1990: CPL8951 Tan Tiang Hwa, from the ROV Enforcement Unit, was killed in a traffic accident while conducting mobile squard duty along Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim .
  • 26 August 1991: CPL7290 Ong Chin Woo, from the Criminal Investigation Department , died in a traffic accident while on anti-crime rounds at Upper Changi Road .
  • 25 October 1991: VC Kannan S/O Pinnasamy died while on his way to work.
  • 21 May 1994: While on a routine spot-check on a subject, Soh Loo Ban, along Nankin Street , Central Police Division police officers CPL Tan Huang Yee and CPL Hoi Kim Heng, 24, gave chase when Soh stabbed CPL Tan on his arm with a 10-cm knife. When nearing the Fook Hai Building , Soh collided with a pursing CPL Hoi, stabbing him fatally in the neck with his knife. CPL Tan subsequently shot Soh dead in the chest at the Hong Lim Food Centre after a struggle on the floor in which CPL Tan received more stab wounds. CPL Tan recovered from his injuries, and was given a rare field promotion to a sergeant on 23 May 1994. CPL Hoi was given the same promotion posthomously, and was ceremoniously cremated with full police honours.
  • 30 November 1994: SI Boo Tiang Huat , 47, of Charlie Police Division, was killed during a routine spot-check at Newtown Road . SI Boo requested the suspect to open his car boot for inspection, and upon doing so, the suspect withdrew an axe and struck SI Boo in the head with it. Not counting traffic accidents, this incident was the last since an officer has been killed while on official duty.
  • 16 February 1996: A patrol car was responding to a case when it lost control and crashed at Upper Changi Road East , killing CPL7531 Asri Bin Mohd Jalil, 31. The other officers in the car recovered from their injuries.
  • 14 September 1996: SSSGT2415 NG Beng Huat collapsed and died from a cardiac respiratory failure.
  • 18 February 1997: CPL2176 Lim Kok Seng, 24, from the Traffic Police Department , died as a result of a traffic accident.
  • 26 October 1998: SSGT9858 Mohd Asri Bin Amin, 35, was killed in a traffic accident while on his way to work.
  • 9 October 1999: SC/CPL Kwah Choon Khiat Johaan , 23, from the Jurong Police Division, succumbed to his injuries in hospital after meeting with a traffic accident on 4 October 1999. The patrol car he was in crashed into the central divider along Woodlands Road while responding to a message, the impact of which sent SC/CPL Kwah crashing through the windscreen and landing on the opposite side of the road. Upon his death, his case was highlighted in the media when his family agreed to donate his organs to several recipients, including his liver to one year old Muhammad Alif Harraz. The driver of the police vehicle was subsequently charged for dangerous driving.
  • 29 November 1999: SGT98574 Ho Boon Chee, 21, from the Jurong Police Division, was killed when his patrol car crashed along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1 into a tree while responding to a message. The driver was trapped in the vhicle, while SGT Ho was removed from the car by passesby. He died in hospital, however, while the driver recovered from his injuries.

2000s

  • 2 May 2000: SI Yap Kin Lai, 44, was involved and killed in a traffic accident on his way home.
  • 15 May 2000: SC/CPL Sam Yeow Piang, was involved and killed in a traffic accident on his way home.
  • 3 March 2001: A police land rover from the Airport Police Division lost control and flipped several times across Airport Boulevard near the SATS Inflight Catering Centre in the direction towards the Singapore Changi Airport, killing two officers, SC/CPL Dzulkha Bin Basru, 22, and NSPI Ranosasni Bin Mohamed Salleh, 23. The driver, SGT98227 Tan Chiew Leong Benny, 23, died a day later in hospital. Seven other officers survived the accident.
  • 14 June 2001: SGT96782 Quek Yew Ming was killed when the police scooter he was riding met with a traffic accident at Ophir Road .
  • 27 December 2002: Team leader SI Ong Kah Kiong Anthony, 43, and his companion, SC/CPL Muhammad Syakir Bin Ishak, 22, died when their patrol car was hit from the rear by a large garbage truck along Tanah Merah Ferry Road . The impact of the crash sent the patrol car off the road, flipping over and landing on its roof, with the trunk landing on top of the patrol car. Both officers, on normal supervisory rounds from the Changi Neighbourhood Police Centre of Bedok division, were crushed and killed on the spot.
  • 29 June 2003: SGT99308 Sri Norashikin Binte Ishak died from her injuries in hospital when the police van she was collided with another vehicle along Kranji Way on 24 June 2003. She was the first female police officer of the Singapore Police Force to die while on duty.
