• Air New Zealand Flight 901 - Crashed into Mount Erebus

• Air India Flight 855 - Crashed after takeoff in Bombay (now Mumbai), India

• Air China flight 129 - Crashed into terrian in low visibility.
• China Northern flight 6136 - Fire on board caused out of control and crashed into the sea.
• China Eastern flight 5210 - Crashed shortly after take off.

Georgia

• Transair Georgian Airline Crash (22 September) - Shot down as it was trying to takeoff from Sukhumi

Hong Kong

• Mandarin Airlines Flight 642 - Crashed upon landing in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China

India

• A De Havilland Comet crashed in Jalalogori , India soon after take-off from Calcutta (now Kolkata) on 2 May 1953 - first of a series of crashes that led to Comet 1 fleet being grounded and eventually scrapped.

Japan

• All Nippon Airways Flight 61 - Hijacked and taken back over Tokyo, Japan
• Japan Airlines Flight 123 - Crashed into Mount Osutaka , Japan

Pakistan

• Pan Am Flight 73 - Hijacked in Karachi, Pakistan.

Saudi Arabia

• Iraqi Airways Hijacking - Hijacked on the way from Baghdad to Amman, later crashed after a grenade exploded

Taiwan

• Singapore Airlines Flight 6 - Crashed upon takeoff at Chiang Kai-shek International Airport near Taipei, Taiwan

Thailand

• Lauda Air Flight 004 - Crashed into a jungle near Suphan Buri and Ban Nong Rong after an in-flight breakup

United Arab Emirates

• Gulf Air Flight 771 - Bombed, then crashed into a desert in the United Arab Emirates

• Indian Airlines Flight 814 - Hijacked on the way to India, and flown to India, Pakistan, the UAE, and Afghanistan before the passengers are released.

• Air India Flight 182 - Bombed off the coast of Ireland
• American Airlines Flight 63 - Attempted bombing over Atlantic Ocean, terrorist is restrained and sedated
• Egyptair Flight 990 - Crashed off the coast of Nantucket
• Swissair Flight 111 - Crashed off the coast of Nova Scotia
• TWA Flight 800 - Crashed off the coast of East Moriches, New York

• USAir Flight 1493 - Collided with a commuter plane while landing in Los Angeles, California.

Colorado

• United Airlines Flight 629 - Exploded after a bomb on board detonated over Longwood after takeoff from Stapleton Airport in Denver, Colorado - Bomb was placed by John Graham as part of a scheme to collect insurance money
• United Airlines Flight 585 - Crashed south of Colorado Springs Airport, officially attributed to a rudder system malfunction according to the NTSB.

Florida

• Eastern Airlines 401 - Crashed in the Everglades in 1972 in a landing attempt
• ValuJet Flight 592 - Crashed in the Everglades in Florida after takeoff

Illinois

• American Airlines Flight 191 - Crashed on take-off O'Hare International Airport, Chicago after No. 1 engine fell off

Indiana

• American Eagle Flight 4184 - Crashed near Roselawn, Indiana due to icing

Iowa

• United Airlines Flight 232 - Crash-landed at Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City after explosion of the No. 2 engine destroyed all three hydraulic systems

Kentucky

• Air Canada Flight 797 - Emergency landed at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport; fire consumed much of the aircraft

Louisiana

• Pan Am Flight 759 - Crashed in Kenner, Louisiana shortly after takeoff from New Orleans.

Michigan

• Northwest Airlines Flight 255 - Crashed after takeoff from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, near Detroit

• American Airlines Flight 1 - Crashed immediately after takeoff from Idlewild Airport (now JFK airport), New York City. (1962 March 1)
• American Airlines Flight 11 - Hijacked after takeoff from Boston, crashed in Manhattan (WTC North Tower), New York City (September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks)
• American Airlines Flight 320 - Crashed in the East River on approach to LaGuardia Airport, New York City. (1959 February 3)
• American Airlines Flight 587 - Crashed in Belle Harbor , Queens, New York City after takeoff from John_F._Kennedy_International_Airport. (2001 November 12)
• Avianca Flight 52 - Crashed at Cove Neck, Long Island, after running out of fuel. (1990 January 25)

• Eastern Airlines Flight 663 - Crashes at Jones Beach State Park after takeoff from Kennedy airport when forced to evade inbound PanAm Flight 212. (1965 February 8)
• Northeast Airlines Flight 823 - Crashed on Rikers Island, New York City, during takeoff from LaGuardia Airport. (1957 February 1)
• TWA Flight 266 (inbound to Idlewild Airport) and United Airlines Flight 826 (inbound to LaGuardia Airport) - Collided over Miller Field, Staten Island, New York City. The TWA aircraft crashed at the site while the United aircraft continued flying for 8 miles until it crashed in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. (1960 December 16)
• United Airlines Flight 175 - Hijacked after takeoff from Boston, crashed in Manhattan, New York City (WTC South Tower) (September 11 Terrorist Attacks)
• USAir Flight 405 - Crashed during takeoff from LaGuardia Airport. (1992 March 22)

Oregon

• United Airlines Flight 173 - DC-8 ran out of fuel and crashed attempting to land, 10 died of 189 aboard, near Portland. (1978 December 28)

Pennsylvania

• United Airlines Flight 93 - Hijacked after takeoff from Newark, New Jersey, crashed in Somerset County (September 11 Terrorist Attacks)
• USAir Flight 427 - Nosedived into the ground near Pittsburgh on September 8, 1994.

• American Eagle Flight 1450 - Crashed while landing in San Juan
• Prinair Flight 191 - Crashed upon landing in Ponce. Pilot error was responsible.

• Delta Air Lines Flight 191 - Crashed upon landing in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport near Dallas
• Delta Air Lines Flight 1411 - Crashed after takeoff from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport near Dallas
