This is a list of catch phrases. A catch phrase is a repeated line used by a person or fictional character.Please make sure that anything you add to this page is a true catch phrase and not merely a famous quotation. Anything not repeated many times by the character is not a catchphrase, no matter how famous.

  • "F.A.B." - acknowledgement signal in Thunderbirds
  • "Fair enough..." - Kevin Pereira on G4TV
  • "FAIRY GODPARENTS!!" - Denzel Crocker from The Fairly OddParents. Whenever he says this, he makes all sorts of strange poses.
  • "Fascinating." - Mr. Spock in Star Trek
  • "Fasten your seatbelts; it's going to be a bumpy night." Bette Davis in All About Eve (not "a bumpy ride" like widely believed)
  • "Fiddle-dee-dee!" - Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind

  • "For now, Dick Clark...so long." - Dick Clark's traditional TV sign-off, accompanied by a salute.
  • "Fo' shizzle" - Snoop Dogg
  • "From Television City in Hollywood..." - Famous phrase, usually an introduction, used by announcers on programs produced at CBS Television City, sometimes including shows not aired on CBS
  • "From the mountains to the ocean, from the desert to the sea, to all of Southern California - good evening." - the late Jerry Dunphy 's original opening phrase during KNXT's "The Big News" program aired in Los Angeles in the 1960's. Later in his career, he dumped the first six words of this opener.

  • "Leapin' lizards!" - comic strip character Little Orphan Annie
  • "Leggo my Eggo!" - advertising phrase used in the sale of Eggo frozen waffles since the 1960s.
  • "Let me at 'em Uncle Scooby" - Scrappy Doo
  • "Let's get dangerous!" - Darkwing Duck
  • "Let's play two!" - Ernie Banks
  • "Let's roll" - phrase allegedly spoken by United Airlines Flight 93 passenger and 9/11 victim Todd Beamer and overheard via cellphone by his wife Lisa; later used by George W. Bush and others to signify American determination in the months after 9/11
  • "Let's see what you could have won!" - Jim Bowen in Bullseye.
  • "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get." Tom Hanks as the title character in Forrest Gump
  • "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." Macdonald Carey, intoning the tagline on every episode of Days of Our Lives since 1966 (even after the actor's death).
  • "Listen, kiddo. . ." Kim Hughes (Kathryn Hayes ), As the World Turns
  • "Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once" - Michelle of the resistance, in 'Allo 'Allo!. Pronounced "Lissern varry carfully, Ah shall say zis only wernce"
  • "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!" - various cast members of US TV show Saturday Night Live, at end of first sketch, before the opening credits
  • "Live long and prosper." - Mr. Spock on Star Trek, and every Vulcan since. (The standard response is "Peace and long life.")
  • "Look at me, look at me" - Kath (Jane Turner) normally to Kim (Gina Riley) in Kath and Kim
  • "Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls" - from Laugh-In
  • "Lookin' good!" - Freddie Prinze as Chico Rodriguez on Chico and the Man
  • "Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit..." -- Steve McCrosky (Lloyd Bridges) in the movie Airplane! This would be followed by a drug of some kind. "Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue."
  • "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off agaiiiiin!" - Team Rocket's phrase of defeat in the Pokémon anime. They usually say this when being blasted into the sky. In other manners of defeat, they occasionally modify the phrase.
  • "ˇLucharan!" - often said on ˇMucha Lucha!, usually to start a wrestling match.
  • "Luvvly Jubbly!" - Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses

  • "Permission to speak, sir." - Corporal Jones in Dad's Army
  • "Pine Valley isn't exactly the corner of Hollywood and Vine." - Erica Kane on All My Children. Originally said in the show's first episode, it has become oft-quoted in flashback sequences and later in Erica's life.
  • "Play it again, Sam." - attributed to Rick the bartender in the movie Casablanca. Actually spoken in the Marx Brothers comedy A Night in Casablanca. The real quote is "Play it, Sam. Play As Time Goes By."
  • "P-p-p-p-pleease!" - Roger Rabbit
  • "Presented for your approval..." - US TV host Rod Serling on The Twilight Zone
  • "Pretty sneaky, sis." - from 1970s US television advertisements for the game Connect Four
