List of postal districts in the United Kingdom
This is a list of the post towns of the United Kingdom sorted in postcode sequence. Each town has one or more postal districts, for example PE2. These are also called postcode districts or outward codes. In rural areas a postal district may cover more than one post town.
A group of postal districts with the same alphabetical prefix is called a postal area, for example YO.
Royal Mail recommend that on envelopes, etc. the post town should be written in capitals. But the county may be omitted provided that a full postcode is given - see postal counties of the United Kingdom.
