List of universities in British Columbia
The province of British Columbia, Canada is home to the following public universities:
- Royal Roads University (Victoria)
- Simon Fraser University (Burnaby)
- University of British Columbia (Vancouver)
- University of Northern British Columbia (Prince George)
- University of Victoria (Victoria)
- Thompson Rivers University (Kamloops), (merger of University College of the Cariboo and British Columbia Open University)
The following institution is a private, religious university:
The following universities are not yet open:
- University Canada West (Victoria) will open in 2005
- Sea to Sky University (Squamish) will open in September 2006
The following universities were closed:
- Technical University of British Columbia (TechBC) (Surrey) had students between 1999 and 2002. It was merged with Simon Fraser University.
