Lloyd Loar
Lloyd Loar was a Gibson sound engineer in the early part of the 20th centrury. He is most famous for his F5 model mandolin. This model was made famous by the bluegrass music of Bill Monroe who used the Gibson F5 model signed by Loar. Currently Lloyd Loar signed mandolins are priced in the $100,000 to $135,000 range and are highly sought after by musicians and collectors.
