Lockstep
Lockstep systems are redundant systems that run the same set of operations at the same time in parallel. The output from lockstep operations is compared to determine if there has been a fault.
A version of lockstep systems that correct the problem are termed as voting systems, which typically employ three sets of hardware running in lock-step.
