Lotf Ali

Lotf Ali Khan was the last King of the Zand Dynasty.

He faced an uprising by Agha Mohammad Khan of Qajar and he fought with him with his small army, then he escaped to the city of Shiraz and ordered the gates to be closed. However his chancellor, who was collaborating with Agha Mohammad Khan, opened the city gate. Lotf Ali again escaped and went to the city of Kerman. Agha Mohammad Khan invaded the city and ordered to his soldiers to blind everyone and himself blinded Lotf Ali, then Lotf Ali was sent to jail in Tehran and was ordered to be killed few years later.

His tomb is in Emamzadeh Zeid in old bazaar of Tehran.

A portrait of him hangs in Museum of Fine Arts in Sadabad Palaces.
