Louis-Philippe de Grandpré
The Honourable Mr. Justice Louis-Philippe de Grandpré (born February 6, 1917) is a Canadian lawyer and former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Roland de Grandpré and Aline Magnan, he received a B.C.L. from McGill University in 1938. In 1938, he was called to the bar of Quebec and practised law in Montreal, eventually co-founding the firm of Tansey, de Grandpré et de Grandpré. From 1972 until 1973, he was president of the Canadian Bar Association. He was appointed to the Supreme Court on January 1, 1974 and resigned on October 1, 1977.
In 1971 he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.
