Lucius Licinius Lucullus
Two notables of ancient Rome share the name "Lucius Licinius Lucullus".
The first was a novus homo who became consul in 151 BC. He was imprisoned by the tribunes for attempting to enforce a troop levy too harshly. Upon reaching Spain, he was disappointed to find that the Celtiberians had made peace, and attacked the Vaccaei and Cauci , massacring the second after having made an agreement with them.
His grandson was the famous Lucullus of Plutarch's biography.
