(Redirected from Luis Gonzalez (football player))
Luis González (born January 19, 1981) is an Argentinian football (soccer) player who currently plays for Club Atlético River Plate.
Called Lucho by fans, González consolidated himself as a staple of the River Plate team in the year 2003, and was an important piece in the 2004 Clausura championship title. He played with the Argentine team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
With Andrés D'Alessandro and Fernando Cavenaghi gone to play in European clubs, González and Javier Mascherano remain the top home-grown young talent in the team, which is anchored by veteran Marcelo Gallardo , also a product of River Plate's young divisions.
