Luri is a dialect of Persian language.
Some scholars use the term Persid for the group of languages to which Persian and Luri (as wll as Bashkardi, Larestani and Kumzari) belong. Luri and the rest of the Persid languages belong to the South-eastern branch of the Iranian languages. Other Iranian languages such as Kurdish and Gilaki belong to the South-western branch of the Iranian languages.
