Lyle Vanclief
The Honourable Lyle Vanclief, P.C., B.Sc.Ag., P.Ag.(Dist.) (born September 19 1943) was Canada's Minister of Agriculture from 1997-2003.
Born in Ameliasburg, Ontario , he was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Liberal MP representing the rural Ontario riding of Prince Edward—Hastings in 1988. He was considered a strong Chrétien loyalist and was removed from the Canadian Cabinet when Paul Martin came to power in 2003. He did not run for re-election in the 2004 Canadian election and today works as a lobbyist.
