M2 (email client)

The M2 email client is built into the Opera web browser. Its interface is somewhat different from many other email clients, to provide better integration into the Opera internet suite. It has excellent spam filtering, supports POP3 and IMAP, newsgroups as well as RSS newsfeeds. Associated with it are Opera's contact manager and assorted PIM components, an IRC client, and a 'notes' panel. It can display text and HTML emails and uses the Presto layout engine to display HTML rather than Internet Explorer to avoid many security hazards that may happen with Outlook/Outlook Express (when used on Microsoft Windows). The browser/email client is available for a number of platforms, inluding Windows, several specific Linux distributions, and Mac OS X.
