MAST Academy
MAST Academy, or Maritime and Science Technology Academy, is a public senior high school in Miami, Florida. MAST Academy is a magnet school under the governance of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. It has an enrollment of approximately 480 students. Its principal is Dr. Consuelo V. Dominguez.
The academic focus of MAST Academy is maritime studies. Students choose one of three major areas of study in which a traditional U.S. high school curriculum is infused with marine-themed subjects. Some course offerings include: Oceanography, Admiralty Law, Solar Energy, Environmental Science, Sea Classics, Environmental Art, Swimming, and Water Safety.
MAST Academy is located on Virginia Key, a narrow island between Miami and Key Biscayne.
