Maclyn McCarty
Marclyn McCarty (June 9, 1911–January 2, 2005) was an American geneticist. In 1944 he, Oswald Avery and Collin Macleod followed up on Griffith's experiment. Their experimental results showed that the genetic material of living cells is composed of DNA.
At his death in 2005, he worked for Rockefeller University, where he had worked for 60 years, researching rheumatic fever.
