Maestro (comics)
The Maestro is an incarnation of The Incredible Hulk from an alternate future timeline set roughly 100 years from the present. He is a composite of all of the Hulk's "core" personalities: the childlike, rampaging "Savage Hulk", the cunning, selfish "Gray Hulk", and the intellectual, aloof "Professor". In his time, the Maestro rules the Earth and all living beings inhabit a city of his own design known as Dystopia. He is referred to as the Maestro because he orchestrated the start of World War III. He first appeared in Incredible Hulk: Future Imperfect #1, by Peter David and George Perez.
The Maestro is an older version of the Hulk and sports a long gray beard with long gray hair along the sides and the back but is completely bald on top of his head. He possesses even greater physical abilities than his present-day counterpart, and is not hampered by any moral or ethical considerations.
The Maestro traveled back through time to manipulate his past self into beginning the chain of events that would create his future. After several battles, in which the Maestro was clearly the more powerful of the two, he was transported by the Hulk further backward through time to the point in which the gamma bomb created by Banner exploded and first transformed him into the Hulk. Ironically, this ground zero nuclear blast that created the Hulk apparently killed the Maestro. However, after the events of the "Heroes Reborn" crossover, the Maestro was revived. He only reappeared briefly, and then only while possessing the Asgardian armored construct called the Destroyer ; he was buried under a rockslide, and has not been seen since.
In the novel , an alternate version of the Maestro appears, along with numerous other alternate-universe Hulks.
