Mahia Peninsula
The Mahia Peninsula is located on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island, between the cities of Napier and Gisborne.
A hilly agricultural extension southwards from the northern tip of Hawke Bay, it is roughly lozenge shaped, extending southwards for 20 kilometres and having a maximum width of 12 kilometres. Its highest point is 390 metres above sea level. A small island (Portland Island) lies off its southern tip.
