Maigh Seola
Maigh Seola was a term used to describe the land along the east shore of Lough Corrib, bounded by the River Clare which formed the border with the Ui Maine vassel kingdom of Soghain . Its rulers up to the 1220s were the Ui Briuin Seola , a branch of the Connachta who took the surname O'Flaherty. They were based at Loch Cime (later called Lough Hackett until forced into Iar Connacht by the Ua Conchobair Kings of Connacht.
