Malvern Railway Station is located on the Frankston, Pakenham and Cranbourne lines, part of Melbourne, Australia's metropolitan railway system. It is 8.9 km from Melbourne's central railway station, Flinders Street Station. It is located on Station Street in the suburb of Malvern. It is close to Malvern Central Shopping Centre, the Glenferrie Road shopping strip, Cabrini Hospital, and Caulfield Park.

It is believed that construction of Malvern station was begun around 1878, following the government acquisition of the Melbourne and Hobsons Bay Railway Company , when plans were set in motion to extend services from South Yarra to the country service in Gippsland. The present station was constructed in 1914.

The station is constructed of red brink in an Edwardian style, designed by J. W. Hardy. Stations of identical design include Armadale, Hawksburn, Toorak, and Camberwell (albeit with fewer platforms). These stations were designed in anticipation of the electrification of the railways, which was postponed due to World War I.
