Mama Bear (Sesame Street)

Mama Bear is a character in the Bear family on Sesame Street.

The role was performed by Alice Dinnean Vernon (1993 - 2002) and Jennifer Barnhart (2003 - present).

Unlike The Three Bears in the classic fairy tale, Sesame Street's Four Bears are certainly sentient characters, and do not regularly appear together. Mama Bear has always been an irregular character on the show, last place in terms of number of appearances in the Bear family, both before and after Curly's birth. Mama never appears in an episode without Baby Bear.
